How Cert-A-Roof started
Cert-A-Roof was founded by Les Watrous, who learned the trade from a family that has worked in construction and roofing for generations. In 1993 he combined that roofing experience with inspection and certification, and Cert-A-Roof has done it the same way since: inspect properly, write it down, then stand behind it.
The company is run by the Watrous family. Les is founder and CEO, Paul Watrous is President and Elaine Watrous is CFO. Over three decades the team has carried out 75,000 inspections and certifications, on roofs in more than a dozen states.
Cert-A-Roof is a member of the National Roof Certification and Inspection Association (NRCIA), recruits and trains inspectors to its protocols, and issues the LeakFREE® Roof Certification. The California office is in Orange. The Montana office is in Polson.
The mission hasn't changed much: give homeowners and the real estate community real value on their roofs. The vision is a bit bigger: to be the most trusted name in roof assurance. (We're working on it, one attic at a time.)
